Rebuilding a Ford tractor with my son. Looking for recommendations for someone to grind a crankshaft on our Ford 2N. I live in the Detroit MI area, Livonia specifically.

Not really close to you, but these guys did my 8N crank and it came
out perfect. Not even a thousandth of and inch difference anywhere.

Buy the bearings from the shop that grinds the crank

Yep. And just as well take the rods in so they can make sure they have the right bearings and check your rods. I think an 8n block would fit in the trunk so maybe take it along and have the journals checked. And if doing all that then let them check the pistons and rod pins and bushings as well as the piston fit in the cylinders. Ka-ching Ka-ching. My simple little rework on my 2606 has turned into a full blown engine rebuild but oh well.
The other option is to order a reground shaft.

Near Motor City there should be pages upon pages of engine machine shops in the phone book. Maybe not so much manufacturing anymore but plenty of custom work going on at shops all over the city.
