New tractor tires

I'm thinking about tractor tires. I have a couple that I want to sell this year, fronts are weather checked and the rears have fair tread but lots of cracks. I priced new 15.5x38 tire locally at $450/tire, a new tube would run around $100 and new fronts at about $100 each. Is a decent old tractor with new tires worth any more than the prices of the tires? Just an example; say an Oliver 880 gas, runs good, nice original tractor with weather checked tires that hold air vs same tractor with $1500 worth of tires and tubes. Is the value with new tires more than the $1500 that it costs for new tires? Thanks, Chris

If the tires hold air and are usable, I’d sell it that way. I don’t think you’ll recover your expenses for new tires.

To put it in terms that a betting person may understand you have less than 10% chance of recovering your $1,500 tire investment when selling the tractor. Take her out to dinner, buy yourself some tools you have been drooling over, buy her a new TV or dishwasher or ??? instead with the $1,500.
