Canola to Mexico

About 10 December the Federal Katsura loaded 25,000 ton of canola @ Duluth Grain Terminal. This canola likely came out of Canada, believe they grow lots of it in western provinces. The ship got thru the locks and canals of the Great Lakes & St Lawrence Seaway, then arrived in port Progreso , Yucatan, Mexico on 10 JAN. Someone said the Soo locks are closing this week? This ship carried a couple dollars of cargo at 14 dollars /bushel in the holds. Thanks to our Canadian friends and farmers for helping balance out N American trade with yesterday's and today's tractors and combines. Markets are going bonkers for US & Canadian grains maybe this is some of the reason.

Monday of this week canola delivered into Lethbridge ab. Was 15.70 per bushel and yes we get paid for it. You can get a check for the canola as soon as you are unloaded.

Thats probably the canola I sold back in July for $9.75 per bushel. I'm hearing targets at $15 are being triggered today. So I'm having a little sellers remorse I guess. Still got a chance to sell a few bushels at these good prices now so thats good.
