Local ih dealer just finished selling a 600 tractor collection on line auction by JR Cash. CThe auction company did the photos and shipping but took 40% in the end he was just so so averaged about $28.00 per unit and he had several high dollar units.

Lump sum sale will cheat yourself on some value, but be done quick.

E-bay will probably be the best route, but will take time.

Well advertized garage sale thru Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace will only reach local buyers.

Several years ago, my high school son sold a lot of collectables for my co-worker. Co-worker brought him all the collectables. Son took care of the Ebay sales, packaging & shipping. Provided a spread sheet of what everything sold for. Received 1/3 of the sales.

Gotta sell out quick......expect some losses.

Got time to sell.......best opportunity on overall profits.

A local auctioneer holds 2 three day consignment auctions each year, spring and fall. Day one is tools and small equipment, day two is larger equipment and vehicles, day 3 is farm toys. If you are near SE Michigan, I would recommend him. My e-mail is open.

Aumann Auctions would be another good place to check if you decide to go that way

First thing to do is have a price in mind. What do you realistically want for your collection? Second thing is cut that number by about 60-75%. That's most likely the offers you will get to take the whole thing at once.

You can sell them all at auction but 200 lots isn't enough for one sale. Best to piggyback off of someone else's sale. Must be a farm toy sale with 2 week internet Pre-bidding/worldwide shipping or you won't get 10% of what they're worth or what you paid. Good thing is winter is a great time for farm toy sales. You will lose 30-40% in commission but that's any auction really.

If you go the eBay route it will take longer but it will cost you 14%. Everything will sell at it's value whatever that may be. Reliable shipping is still an issue at the moment so hopefully you have time to wait a month, maybe more.

Local ads will likely be useless but craigslist and facebook marketplace are free and nationwide.

I've been buying and selling farm and construction diecast for 20 years now and have seen plenty of people lose their shirts on poorly advertised or labeled items. Whatever you ask, be prepared for "I'll give you $300 you pay for shipping". Most people aren't prepared or willing to buy whole collections. There's no shortage of people interesting in exploiting the situation either.

Personally I'd go the auction route. The sale I was at Saturday sold a Mint in box Ertl Deere 7020 with Wing Disk for $3000. Yes Three Thousand.

I just bought a tractor on in internet auction. A local company using HIBID for the internet sale part. I am not sure how selling in one lot would go, It would limit your audience by a lot. 200 pieces would be a good sized auction. You would have to offer shipping to get best results. With an auction you get rid of it all at one time and someone else does the work. Let us know here is you do an auction so we can see what you have, good luck.

Girard Auction is probably the best toy auction place in the country, but they are in South Dakota. They would probably combine yours with other consignors. You can check out their website, just Google it. I have seen local toy auctions where prices were higher than you can buy them from dealers. Even after paying the commissions, I would still auction them before having someone buy lump some at a heavy discount. The buyer will just resell them at a profit anyway. Besides, the auction should be a fun day for you too.

Dsmythe I would be interested in an 430 Case tractor & an International 464 tractor or if you know where I could find them Thanks Dave F.

I collected farm toys for 27 years. My kids didn’t want them so my wife put them for sale on eBay one at a time some years ago. I had about 250 pieces from the1/64 to 1/16 scale. I was very pleased that they all sold in a short time. I got a toy Farmer book from my boss so I could put a fair dollar value on them all. It worked out well for me. Then I bought a real WD45 AC tractor with loader from a friend of mine with the sale of my toys. Kow Farmer Kurt. 🐂👩‍🌾

If you have the time, you will probably realize the highest price on Ebay but will require the most work on your part. Packing and mailing is not as simple as it appears.

I have had very good results selling on auctions. I have used Mecum with very good results and it cost a lot less than 40%.

Girard does an excellent job also. Recently on-line sales have become very popular and work very well. Your timing is pretty good as many toys have been bringing good prices recently.
