Pa's cousin painted his SC the same as picture. They must have thought the flambrue red was a pretty color for a tractor ---until Case came out with the desert sunset combo.
Was the replacement for the SC the bull nose 300? If so I can see why they didn't want to trade tractors to get the more desirable color. I never could like the looks of the 300.

I grew up on fords. Dad had fordson majors. Like to find another nice one someday. Still have the 8N grandfather bought new. Bought an Oliver super 88 in 1974. Been all oliver since till I caught a little case bug couple years ago.

yes its a 272 JD Finish mower,,a fellow gave it to my brother,,he gave it to me,,I Put a pulley and a new belt on it,,and used it a lot,,its a good machine for sure

there is a SC painted just like that about 30 miles away from me. they want $1500 and it comes with a snow plow. Bill

I agree a good mower. I had one, got too hard for me to turn and look behind when backing into tight spots. Had to go back to a belly mower.

We had a 930 wetern like that without that intake. Would pull right with my 806. On sand those 18-26 rice tires sucked though if it spun once it was stuck. On clay it would wallow through anything I think. I did hate that push hand clutch though and it needed 2 people to hitch up to anything. Couldn't see the drawbar from the seat working that basakwards hand clutch. Used about the same fuel as my 806 would in a day. pulled 6 16's on land hitch with it. 20 foot disc and 8 row planter.

never seen a ih I could not walk all over either,, nor a green one,, Olivers were a worthy brand though,, I am talking when these was new,, we had far more torque and lugging power, used less fuel doing it,, there was a reason we was the only equipment dealer here for decades,,

Dad had next to the last bid on a 930 Discomfort King back late in 1968. Cousin farmed right across the road from the farm, was familiar with the 930. Said it was a 4-bottom tractor, We were using a nice 4-14 Case trailer plow with MidWest plow harrow. Seemed like you climbed UP a long ways to get in the seat. I was relatively low hours, I forget where Dad stopped bidding. He had been looking for a 796 or 806 diesel but just nothing available in red! Following Saturday Dad bought "The MONEY PIT 4010". and the matching #400 4-38 frt mounted cultivator. Unfortunately he found a CASE 5-14 trailer plow, not near as nice as the 4-14 Case plow we had, He transferred the plow harrow over and widened the harrow, and it was WAY more than the 4010 could handle. I was down in 2nd & 3rd gear plowing sod! We pulled the back bottom off one rainy day. Between the $3600 for the 4010, $1600 for the cultivator, $$$$ for four new tires, $$$ for new paint/decals, $$$ for tune-up, $$$$ major engine rebuild, tie rod ends, load shaft seals and a gallon or two of #303, rebuild the 24v electrical system, PTO shifter and clutch rebuild when it tried shifting from 540 to 1000 while bush-hogging. Yep, a BRAND NEW 806-D would have been WAY cheaper!

This 1960 Case 930 was purchased new by a local construction company to build part of a state highway through the county including two small cities. In about 1985 it got parked out in the front of the company. It was given to me in 1998. Took me a couple of months to get the engine free and running again. In 2011, one of the cylinder liners started pouring coolant into the crankcase. I have unfortunately let it sit. Think I am going to sell it as I just have too much to do and I am slowing down fast. She has had a rough life.

I would be the owner of a 4490 but I was not in position to buy a tractor when the dairy went broke it was hard to steer and needed some work but it had almost new tires all the way around and it would start at 20 below in 3 cranks without being plugged In . Think it brought 6000 I could have got it for 4500
