Went and looked at this 671 today. It's
ugly. SOS handle is " in the shed" "was
running" 10 years ago......front tires
shot. Backs hold air. Grease leaking out
of back axle. Rear spin out rims are on
backwards but look ok. Sheet metal has
gold paint on it. Any way to tell if it
was a gold demonstrator? Asking $500.
Dropped to $300 when he saw the head
shaking from me and my wife. How do you
rock it to see if motor is stuck? It is
a SOS.

For $300, if you can use parts from it or sell parts off of it, go for it!! If it runs and tranny works, Great!! If not, you can recoup your investment. How are the tires, if they are good, it's worth that just for the tires. I'd probably try it and I don't have any Fords!!

You cannot rock it to check if engine is locked up but you can put a wrench on the crankshaft or a hand crank and check it if it doesn't have a fan belt. To move it you need to disengage the park lock which is a small lever on the left side about where your heal would be if sitting on it

David......aint bought this. Leaning towards no. Needs a ton of work. Cable is off top of transmission, water been getting in. Story is tractor survived a hurricane in Louisiana 10 years ago........who knows. Very little, black oil on dip stick. Radiator is still good. That's money.......

On a sos tractor it automatically shifts to park when the engine is turned off, you cannot rock it or even turn the tires unless you disengage the rearend.
To allow the rear wheels to spin freely for towing you remove the nut holding the Drive Line Disengagement strap on, flip the strap over, and rotate the shaft 60 degrees to the rear, you may have to rock the rear tires a little to get it to rotate. The strap can then be reinstalled to lock it in the disengaged position.

SHEESH where do you keep finding these things??? Do you have a tractor sniffing coon dog?? he says 300 offer 200 and hope he will take 250... load it up get it home... the radiator should be worth that.. I gamble with more $$$ then that every time I plant a crop...

Oh how much to rent that tractor sniffing coon dog????

If you can get a pipe wrench on the side of the front pulley a 8 inch wrench will turn it eazy . Hard to explain, the open end of the wrench goes inside the pulley and the other goes over the outside of the pulley.Yes it might leave a mark, but it wont hurt anything.

Man - that baby is 'are you eff eff' = ruff.

Spin out rims are worth something, the tires need to be turned around. SOS doesn't interest me at all. Even if the motor spins, it's going to need hone, and maybe more.
