why put your Zturn up on blocks ?

Just shooting the chit at the lawn equipment service desk, the tech suggested putting my Zturn on blocks for the winter - said it would prevent "flat spots".
Anybody buy this?
 
We all have felt the flat spots on tractor rears until we drive for awhile. I got in a brand new combine that had been sitting a few days and drove it down the road with no header. For the first couple miles I could not go wide open because the flat spots in the tires was literally tossing me around in the cab. Then after the tires had warmed up it smoothed out for the rest of the trip. This was in June when the temps were already warm.
 
I have never done this with my Ex Mark and haven't had any issues. My lawn is so rough also, anyway. LOL

Probably a good reason. If any tire on it leaks down, the rubber (made today) is likely to get cracks to the cord. It they have not deflated, over the summer, I would not be inclined to do it. I do suggest that welding in the same place as rubber is stored will take its Ozone deterioration to new levels. Jim
 

I would do it with any that have the no-flat/no air tires.
And those rear "TIRES" plastic or rubber web suspension between hub and tread.

I've never noticed an issue with my Ferris. But I can say I don't miss the bad old days of loading up a truck and parking it over night for an early morning departure, only to have to drive a ways on the bias tires before the flat spot works out.
 
I think most folks have better things to do with their time than to block up their mowers. Mine gets moved several times each winter to make room in the shop, so I don't think I need to worry.
