CAV Injection Pump off Ebay

ebay guarantees your purchase. I've purchased over 400 items from them over the years (probably 70% hobby related), and only had a couple of times I had to bring in the bad guys. One time the guy was advertising half a dozen BS oil filters and only shipped 1. Second thing was an N model diesel locomotive that couldn't run but seller said it ran fine......got my money back including shipping. Settled in my favor both times. Of those purchases I put generators, V regulators, alternators, starters and instrument panels on my 1960's vintage Ford tractors. Never a problem and all of what I mentioned are still functioning and the Lucas gen is over 25 years old.....Ford lift arms you need to be particular.

...and an aftermarket power assisted steering to my 3000 Ford, and remote hydraulic valves for said tractor to name a couple more.

ebay uses a customer feedback rating system for their sellers. If you don't maintain the 5* rating, you get booted. Unhappy customers are a no-no. For many years purchases were tax free. Seems the states wised up and got them in the tax collecting loop too......aw shucks!

Another thing is security. never have to worry about security. Also shipping is usually fast and free. My shipments have tracking numbers and usually arrive a day before the estimated Rx date on stateside shipments and on over seas shipments, a week or two faster.

What do the CAV DPA pump repairs cost in your area? I get pumps in from several states, repair/calibrate/return run 350-450 range IF the cam and hydraulic head/rotor are good..

I agree with Mr Dieseltech, Most rotary pumps are repairable for 350 - 450 range, If you pay more you are getting hosed. I would like to share a warm story about Ebay from last week. I have a Deutz With Rex-Roth hydraulic pump. Stacked style. Ebay had new ones listed for 250 bucks. That is 1/4 of what I have seen them listed for. I am also an A+I dealer. 250 is even WAY below my dealer cost, so I bought one. Now that its here I see it doesnt fit, does look the same from 5 feet away, but smaller. If I return it I have to pay 20% restocking fee, plus 14 bucks to ship, on top of 14 I already paid. That makes this killer deal not so good. I will just keep it, and hope I can sell it to someone that can use it. It was listed as being the same CCs for each pump, but it is an inch shorter. Ebay, and the seller dont have Phone #s you can call and complain. If you try to email them it is not easy for someone who isnt computer smart. My lesson, dont always think something cheap on ebay is going to work, dont think they will help you if it doesnt. Al
