Favorite Youtubers and revenue speculation

Certainly you have all watched a 'here's what we are doing today" you tube video from your favorite you tube farmer personality. I am amazed, some of these guys
consistently get thousands of views. I am also amazed, if you have ever tried to make a 30 minute good you tube video, how long that takes. These you tubers are pretty
busy guys, and call me cynical, but I doubt they are so passionate about chisel plowing that they want the whole world to know exactly how its done. So that begs the
question, if you are getting say 5,000 views or more per video, how much might you make per video?

Crap, fluff & a soap opera theme sells, that's why they have tens or hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Don't forget all the girls in tank tops jiggling across plowed fields & one that has to include fashion with her daily dose of ag based nonsense. And the liar-based-clickbait suggested videos. The rest of the "popular" videos are just so much lipstick on a pig. I prefer the down to earth ones where farming is concentrated on & kudos to the ones that shut up & let the equipment do the talking.

Mike.... Who should just change his Ewetube handle to "Angry Farmer", due to the fact that stupid sells to stupid. Should have 1M sub's by the end of next year. NOT!! Haaaaawhawhawhawhaw!!!!

They say you can make $4 or so per 1000 views. There is a lot of this or that and whether entire ad is watched or not by viewers, and how long the video is how many ads you can get in....

But about $4 per 1000 average.

That is about the most direct answer I've got yet about how much I am missing by not monetizing my channel. I average about 16,000 views a month but they never say how much I could be making if I was to let them run ads on my videos. I hate the ads so much that I'd feel like a sellout if I started running them on my channel. I just do it for fun and the interesting comments.

You are one of my favorite YouTube people as I enjoy seeing
how things are done in your area as well as the old tractor
content.

Youtube has become insufferable with all their crappy, spammy ads.
I don't go there much anymore.
Just another nice thing big tech has ruined in their insatiable quest for lucre.

(quoted from post at 14:20:29 12/20/20) I avg between 120-140 thousand views a month and that gets me around 600 bucks give or take.
Thanks for the feedback. I guess with my numbers I am not missing out on any big money then.

Tow Piglet is a hotshot driver and is pretty honest about what he makes. He doesn't have all that many subscribers, but he showed YouTube revenue of $14000 for the month of November....national news carried the story of Zach Johnson "Millenial Farmer" where he said he makes more off his YouTube channel than he does farming...and they farm pretty big! The big guys just shoot the footage and have another company do all the editing and merchandising for them.

Not hard to make more off youtube than farming, most years. I don't get why you act surprised/angry about that.

It's okay to send your wife into town to take a demeaning day job to feed and clothe your children, but if you find an opportunity for some "easy" money, you're not a real farmer I guess.
