-i recently purchaced what we think is an 800 backhoe/loader. The numbers on the tranie and block seem to conflick eachother. Hopefully I can find answers here. Numbers are as follows;
tractor# behind starter) 820. 1. 134
block # EAF 8015 J
Zenith carb # 13878. aluminium tag, 88NNA
this is five speed transmission, engine smokes due to a card needing rebuild, we believe.
any info or questions I can answer for more info welcome---
thank you, FC1

well, I guess no one saw this post or has no answers for me---tractor still noit running, but carb was cleaned, charged the battery, but got a foot of snow out there now, I'll try again in a few days-- FC1--

Hello FC1 welcome to YT! Seems I remember seeing your post in May probably due to the unusual title. I also remember that I thought you were making quite a request with the minimal info you gave. There is a search feature here that allows to search for posts by author. When I search under FC1 it only shows 3 posts and they are all in this thread. So I wondered how you found your original post to reply to it by ..quote.. I assume you had a book mark to it. I think that may have been around the time YT was doing some server upgrades so maybe it got lost in cyberspace, apparently you found it. Sorry cant help you with your machine more of an IH man. Maybe with a couple more post you will be allowed to post a picture which I think would be a great help to figure out your dilemma.

I did not see your earlier post and there not a lot of info there to work with and some of it doesn't match up

820 behind the serial number is the model number which is for a 800 with 4 spd trans, no pto or 3 point lift
But you say it is a 5 spd model with is a 850 or 860 model
Look the 2 over good to make sure it's not a 5 or 5
Does the tractor have a pto or 3 point lift?

I assuming 1.134 is the serial number, the missing number would tell if it is a late 54 or early 55 build
55 serial numbers started at 10615

Engine number EAF8015J isn't correct, most likely EAF6015J which is a early 172 engine

If I'm reading your numbers correct you have a 1955 800 series tractor but that's about all I can tell you with the info you've given
