Cold start and drive

I don't do the typical "cold start" videos that are so popular on youtube. Lots of smoke and winding with the starter seems to draw the viewers but since I'm the guy that will have to pay to fix the equipment, I cheat a little and use the block heater. The JD 2140 fired up like summer time even after a day of -5 temps. Not too exciting I know but I'm happy with it.

I have a 1500 watt tank heater on my 3020 and at 15 below zero it will make the temperature gauge in the dash read in the normal operating zone . Now if I could heat the hydraulic oil : have you been able to figure out a new switch for the starter

I was just thinking that, i plug my little tractor in, but the hydraulics move slowly for a bit, I wish i could keep it in my garage rather than my unheated barn!

If you zoom in, by the roll bar on the left in the pic, you will see the mirror of my f250! 😂😂

(quoted from post at 05:02:10 12/19/20) Enjoyed the twilight tractor ride. You ever use the drone in follow mode when you are on the tractor ?

I have not used the drone to follow the tractors yet but would like to try it some time. I think it will have to be in warmer weather though.

Yes, got the big heater on the Massey and it is ready to start in an hour or less even with our cold. I've got a new relay to install on the 2140 but have not got around to doing it. Something to do with freezing temps I think.
