Kubota 3130 shuts off

We've got a Kubota 3130 that would run for a few minutes, then shut off. I replaced the seat switch and fuel solenoid which didn't solve the problem. I replaced the ignition switch, which seemed to solve it until yesterday, when it started acting up again. I had a similar problem with my 1755, which turned out to be the flex ring going bad in the pump, but with this tractor, when it quits I can hear the solenoid dropping out
Thanks

Pete one of the most COMMON causes for this is of course the fuel control solenoid of which you say you replaced. SO after that the very next thing I usually see is low voltage. That can be caused from several things again usually in this order. What is common is the ground cable fastens to the chassis or tractor with a bolt , remove that bolt and do a good job of cleaning there. After that see if it is time to replace the battery. May still be there somewhere in the wiring as you say replacing the switch seemed to fix it so that points to wiring.

See if there is a relay in that circuit. Also look close at the plug connector on the fuel shut off solenoid. We have had a connector problems on the Kubota engines we use for other applications.

My 2012 B 3000 Kubota has had a switch go bad on the hydro linkage twice now. In my case it would blow a little 5 amp fuse in the fuse box and tractor would shut down. The first time under warrantee at about 400 hrs but I still had to drag it out of the woods and get it on my trailer. The second time at about 1400 hrs I knew what it was a replaced the 35 dollar switch. The dealer said I could hook the two wirers on the switch together and go around it so I carry a little jumper I made in case it happens a third time.

I did some more research and found that there's an OPC (operator presence control)timer in the safety shutdown circuit. It's function is to create a delay so that it doesn't shut the machine off when the operator hits a bump and opens the seat switch momentarily. The tractor isn't all that new, but I'd rather be working on my 60's and 70's vintage stuff... lol

The operator presence timer is a 1 sec delay device.

If you remove the fuel stop solenoid completely does it shut off?

A few minutes sounds like fuel line clogged (look in the filter bowl for air) or bad coil warming up as the coil is energized to run I think on this model.

Meter on the coil would help diagnose.

My L5030 had similar issue, but was the fusible link plug up by the battery positive terminal had corroded and would cause the solenoid to drop out randomly.

You could make a temporary jumper to connect the solenoid directly to the battery. That would determine if it was still in the wiring.

AND when he does that most of the time folks burn up the solenoid. Solenoid has two coils in it. ONE receives voltage when the switch is in CRANK position called the pull in coil then there is another wire that furnishes power to the hold in coil when the switch is in the run position. Easy to get power to both and burn the $65.00 switch out.
