Price of corn?

There’s an auction site on the west fringes of the Twin City metro. I’ve checked Cbot for current pricing and I realize that there are slim to none as far as market elevators in this area which leaves the squirrel and pheasant feeders at the mercy of the local fleet vendors available. All I can say is more power to the consignor.

I bought 100 pounds from a local farmer for $14 to feed to the deer, rabbits, crows, squirrls and "others". I have a camera tied nearby. I have pictures of an 8 point buck, 2 4 pointers, and a button buck. I regularly get 6 does. Also had a coyote and a fox cruise by. Dang rabbits have found a feast at night and the squirrls during the day. The crows don't like me 'cause I chase them off if I see them and I also play some sound effects.

So if I bring you a 30 ton load you going to give me $8,400.00 when do you want it delivered.?

Look at cat food prices, made out of grain, [wheat middling's} and the cat can only digest about 20% of it, and it's not good for them, It's been that way for a long time

Rockingham VA coop sells corn for around $12 for 100 lbs, some places are up to $18.50 per 100 lbs.Put it in a bag that says Deer Corn can be up to $15 for
50 lbs.Have to watch buying corn from farmers in '100' lb bags rarely will you get the full 100 lbs.

I have several people that get corn form me for squirrels and such. I charge them $5 for a bucket full and they seem happy. I have one person that puts it out by the windows at a old folks home and I give her all she wants, just knowing someone is enjoying the squirrels is payment enough.

I too sell cob corn for wildlife and people with chickens and such, $5 for a 5 gallon pail heaping full, and they bring their own pails.

I can only say to most of you, you're not charging nearly enough.

It's one thing if you've got a steady stream of customers, but if you're only selling a bucket/sack of corn once or twice a week, the hassle of dealing with it like that costs you more than you are bringing in by selling it that way.
