Was the upside down horseshoe original with the tractor or is the owner telling everyone how problematic the tractor is???

Is that upside down or right side up? The other way wouldn’t it fill up with water and rust. It hangs on the anvil better this way.

The old timers used to say that a horseshoe hanging with the points up would catch all of the luck, pointing down would let the luck run out.

First thing my eyes went to was the fact that the horseshoe was upside down. It's not a big deal..... Just something I grew up with. Upside down was
for empty of good luck..... Right side up was a good kick sign as mentioned below. Just an old saying from who knows where/when it came about.

Naw, that not right!
Upside down and the luck runs out, right way up makes a swing for the devil - so you can't win! Best you can do is hang it sideways on, to keep a little bit of the luck in and stop the devil from occupying the space! Jim

Thanks Majorman. I hesitated on whether to add the name Nuffield, but figured someone would straighten it out if wrong.

So Field Boy is more a brand of its own? Do you have any other info on it?

Will look up some more info. on them but from what I remember, the company was a large
Italian Nuffield dealer, V. Cantatore of Turin who did other mods to the tractors like
fitting 4WD. The "Field Boy 300" was a 33hp four wheel drive version about the size of
a Fordson Dexta or Ferguson FE35.

The Nuffield Three cylinder "small tractor" that Nuffield made was still a big tractor
as it used some parts from the Nuffield Four cylinder models and was too large for the
vineyards. This dealer made this small tractor and got permission to call it a
Nuffield, to extend the range into vineyard tractors.

Thanks for the info.

I gotta say it again, you and MJ are a true wealth of knowledge when it comes to tractors across the pond. Sure do appreciate your input!
