Think that's what we used in the tractors fifty years ago, came in fifty gal. barrels. Haven't heard the name since.

Use it and it only. Their grease is the best money can buy. If you don’t believe me go work in a fertilizer plant and start experimenting with different greases

When I was in college in Bowling Green Ky. from '64 to '69 The guy I rented a house from sold Schaffer motor oil. I used it for years until I got drafted ( not by the NFL ). When I got out of the Army I couldn't find it any more. He told me that it was refined from paraffin based deposits not asphalt based crude. Anyway I ran it in my 60 Oldsmobile for several years with good results. Ellis

We use Schaeffer’s engine oil, gear lube, and several of their aerosol products where I work. Sometimes field maintenance is not good or is non-existant. We had a 50 KW genset come back from a large project with over 4000 hrs on the last oil change. I have no idea how much oil had been added along the way...at least it wasn't low. We pulled a sample just for the heck of it. Additives were gone, oxidation was very high, but the wear metals weren’t that bad. The old oil was very thick when cold and very thin when warm. Been using Schaeffer’s for over 20 years with no oil related problems.

Use about all there products only thing it don’t use anymore is the hydraulic transmission oil getting way to expensive and not seeing a real benefit using it switched over to Hy-Guard a couple years ago.Kind of hard to find it or a place that sells all the products. Most place only stock a few different types of oil and grease.

Look on the label on the back, does it say C-rated [Compression = diesel] or S-rated [Spark = gasoline.] ?

Son-in-law builds dirt race cars for others as well as runs his own. He insists on running Schaffer's. I have seen several years he would run the same oil all season and come winter his bearings look almost new. I help with maintaining them during the week so I know the engines have not been down or oil changed during that time.

I use their penetrating oil. It is the best I have ever found. The only down side is the only place I can find is an amish friend of mine that lives 60 miles away.

May have to go back to the old days and light a bucket of diesel beneath the oil pan 😂

My cousin uses the tractor hydraulic Oil it might be great but hygard is good and it hurts bad enough to see it go on the ground

I'm not convinced it is worth the extra costs ! Guys running fleets and doing oil analysis would be able to run the numbers and see if it works for them I would think. For that old beater with a gas engine I'd run the Rural King $ 1.99 qt oil in it. Or whatever cheap oil you can find in your area as long as it has the API labeling and markings.

I wanted something heavier to help slow the oil consumption just a little this was the only 20 50 available locally so that’s what I got . I see penzoil has one that’s a lot cheaper

I run their 9000 5w20 in my 07 expedition. When I order a case from the dealer the breakdown is about $5.80/qt
