Some friends were out barhopping with their snowmobiles at night. One was hard to start so the rider, nicknamed "Monkey", left his idling. When they came out of the bar Monkey decided to show off by belly-flopping on the snowmobile and applying full throttle. The snowmobile shot out from under him and the throttle stuck wide open. They could hear the thing running around out in the fields, (it was snowing) and it finally got tangled up in some snow fence.

my buddy had something like that happen , he forgot he taken the main jets out of his snowmobile , while trying to start it in the garage it started and went WOT clutch engaged and tried to go threw the garage wall

My son had that happen to him with a brand new go cart.

Just got it home put some gas and oil in the engine. Starts it up and it took off.
Threw the chain link fence in our yard across the street and into the well house in the neighbors yard.

Years ago probably in the 70's, the neighbor started his snowmobile up out in his driveway. Somehow the throttle was stuck open and it took off out into the road, glanced off the snowbank and headed up the road like a bat out of hell. He jumped in his car and gave pursuit. Thing traveled just over a mile weaving back & forth across each lane glancing off the snowbanks till it finally flipped over. He was lucky it didnt run into oncoming traffic as it went over dips and blind corners along the way.
