Anybody use it to sell stuff? How does payment work, shipping? Do they take a commission? I have a lot of Scout parts to sell off and I don't want to get involved with ebay and PP.

Buy and sell tractors and equipment all the time on there. Bring cash to my house and I will help load. Never had an issue. Also sold almost all my square bales of hay on there. They don't take a commission. I have had folks pay with pay pal. Way less spam and crap than Craigslist

Its FREE. Sold a 42 9N and a couple trailers. No issues. Buyer brings CASH!!!! Actually need to sell a few more tractors n stuff.

Also have used facebook marketplace and have had no problems. Buyer pays when item is picked up, cash or check when somewhat local.

I’m not on Facebook so no use to me.

I saw on another site, the scammers are starting to work on Facebook too now, while Facebook has a bit more control it’s just a matter of time and the same scammers as everywhere else. They find the loopholes.

Scout parts???? what kind of scout parts??? a lot of the ih farmall guys on here would look at em. WHy dont you postem on here? Im not a farmall guy but we do have an older scout on the farm that could use some parts im sure.

A guy at work has a little side business where he hauls top soil and such in a 6 yard dump trailer.
He advertises exclusively on FB marketplace.
He has been very happy with the results.
FB has no idea who calls him or not as the customer contacts him directly.

Scammers are STARTING? Hardly. Scammers have been there right along and if anything it's EASIER for them to place their scam ads and get away with it than on Craigslist. At least on Craigslist you know it's a scam.

I have a scout junk yard and three runners but would like to know what you have and get a contact

I have bought and sold all kinds of things on Facebook it works good and it’s free I have also used it to advertise for my custom farming business . I sold all my extra hay this year on Facebook.

Bought and sold on FB MP Good results. No commission. Face to face, or phone call deals. All have been local. I sold a pair of NOS Wrangler jeans for what I paid for them. I was pretty fat and happy.

Same, I sold some stuff on there last month and I have different things off of there too. You bring cash and I help you load.

I have bought and sold on it. Seems about the same as craigslist at the time. Lots of flakes and tire kickers but I kind of liked it. Now all I see is a bunch of crap being advertised. Hardly look anymore.

Just sold 3 6.2 diesels. Posted CL and FB same day. 0 calls from CL, 6 from FB, 3 serious, buyer showed up with cash and a trailer. I let ads go 4 weeks and then cancel them. I only deal in you pick up and pay cash.

Here in Michigan there is enough population density that most things of value will generate some interest. I will say FB sort sucks, ask for Oliver tractor and get all kinds of crap, and a few Oliver’s mixed in.

(quoted from post at 17:31:34 11/27/20) Did you say "sell a few tractors"??? Hmmmm. What state are you in? Lol

Not to high jack this man's thread, I'm in Carthage Tn. Wife just informed me we are keeping 1 tractor, no joke..
Whatcha need?

I have had much better luck selling with MP than CL. MP will generate 5 inquiries to one from CL. Also much easier to make contact and ask questions. Bought 2 ATV's for the grandkids on MP just last week. Give it a whirl.....
