wore out

I didn't want to hijack the "Right to Repair" thread below, but I wanted to out my situation "out there".
I recently purchased the house next to me as a "fixer-upper", has some water damage from a broken pipe when it sat empty after the owner made a job-related move.
It has a 4 or 5 year old high efficiency gas boiler (NTI) and when I went to change the operating temperature I discovered you make all such adjustments via a touch screen display and the installer PASSWORDED it.
The installer is no longer in business/around and I am locked out of my own boiler.
Who'da thunk it? Outsmarted by a "smart" household "appliance"!
Now I've got to find out how the hack/erase the password and take control!
