I'm starting this as a different thread in case it gets poofed. Joe, what "foolishness" are you referring to? I hope you mean the vote counting in your state and not the nnalert. because 260,000 people dead is hardly foolishness.
 
Hhhhffft......1000 people in Wal-Mart. Folks scared to go to an out door tractor show. This year has been blown out of proportion. Foolishness

To me this virus thing is 99% political and 1% truth. I figure if my mother at age 96 can test positive and never get any symptoms and the stepson test positive and get sick and come back out of it in less then a week and the wife while not test get sick and do the week and be okay an my self I was around them all and never had so much as any symptom. To me says something is not right or we and super people or the Lords super protected
 
They’re not getting cash for radon.

We’re forced to install radon mitigation for the last decade and I have yet to read it in an obit.
 
I am not a fanatic about anything everyone is free to do what they want i don't smoke drink a little Crown Royal as i have spoken in the past how many are killed each year by drunk drivers how many homes are destroyed by alcohol how many die of liver disease one of my daughters and her ex husband were millionaires on paper the had three chickens houses a new home land everything paid for due to her ex's drinking he now lives in a run down mobile home 57 years old looks like death walking my daughter has the house and four acres of land all of their work down the drain.

It is 100% foolishness to stop tractor shows and destroy the finest economy in our history over the nnalert thing. !00%. Anything at all with a survival rate greater than 99% is nothing to fear. The dead folks all had something else that weakened them anyway. It is time for all good people to rise up and put a stop to this. nnalert is a political issue, not medical. Viruses have to run their course and this one will as well.
 
Drinking, smoking and being fat are a few things a person can control on their own. I’m sure most of the 26,000 didn’t ask for their fate. Next thing we’ll hear is God is culling the herd. I’ll keep doing what I’m doing to stay safe accordingly.
 
Old, I am happy for you that your Mother, stepson, etc. survived. I really am. But what about the neighbor who lost there Mother, brother, cousin to this dreadful virus. How do you tell them it is "foolishness"

If people quit thinking that it is something that they could control and that it is all a big conspiracy we could have been out of this 6 months ago. Take your tin hats off and come out into the real world!
 
This would have been a lot less if EVERYONE would have taken it seriously and used appropriate PPE. I would see no issue having these events if the proper precautions were followed, but they will not be because some are laughing this off.
 
Well 99% of those who have died had under lying condition so the virus did not really get them all it did was take them over the edge they where on any how. EVERY death I have heard of ALL had under lying conditions I have not heard of any death with out under lying conditions
 
I guess all those sickly people who died are just collateral damage. Most would still be alive if every one would just be kind to others ,but a mask is such an awful thing to have to wear. Guess some of us just have to die to make people like you more comfortable.
 
What I've wondered about, is they tell us to wear a mask, not to protect us from what we inhale, but to protect others from what we exhale.

In order to capture all of the droplets that we exhale and filter them, wouldn't the mask have to have an absolute, air tight seal around the edge?

Someone said if your glasses fog up, you may as well not be wearing the mask.

Goose, The masks are primarily to protect others but they do protect the wearer to a degree also. Yes, in order to capture ALL of the droplets you would need a positively tight seal, but catching half of them and slowing most others down makes a HUGE difference. Just think if you were walking into your favorite bar and had the virus but had no symptoms, and as you were passing through a group of eight people and sneezed, maybe only one would get the virus from you instead of seven. Those other seven and their families and friends and co-workers and co-commuters would be very grateful when it was on the news a week later, even though only 50 caught it, and after a month only two of them died.
 
Bmack95hd......and if you are worried about the virus stay home....... I'm worried about smoking myself to death so I don't smoke. I'm worried about being fat so I eat healthy .......
 
Grandpa, I do stay home more than I would like but when I go out I wear my mask, stay away from others, use gloves and hand sanitizer. Comparisons of smoking, drinking and obesity deaths to the virus deaths just don’t mean much when 3 out of the 4 are personal choices. And when people say it’s only 1% of those affected is an OK percentage, I’m sure it is until family and friends are affected. I don’t care what other people do but I’m comfortable doing things my way.
 
Old, I fully understand what you're saying and you're right, but if we all practiced the safety measures maybe a large portion of that 260,000 could have lived a few more months or years. Is it really that tuff to wear a mask and social distance and stay home more. Seems worth it to me. 16-30
 
I've had bio hazard training and the mask thi8ng only help some one from giving it to some one else but does nothing to stop you from getting it. Only way for anyone to be safe is every one wear a full hazmat suit with its own air supply.

Reminds me of the story--not sure if I have it right--Each time the guy jumps out of the plane he uses a 1" smaller diameter parachute so he can one day jump out with no parachute at all.

And when did you have your Biohazard training young fella??? I'll bet that there is virtually nothing about what you had then that is still relevant. Don't forget that you insist that the CDC changes everything every week. Two weeks ago they released results from a recent study with a very large population sample that showed that the mask does indeed help the wearer. Not to the extent that it prevents the wearer from infecting others but it is still a significant help. Your wife and mother both have conditions. OK with you for them to die in four weeks? And they don't stamp anything anymore they touch keys on the keyboard, Young fella.
