I bought a trucking facility 20 minutes north of my current location. In my offer to purchase I included the 170 Allis with loader that they had in the shed. It is a gas with pretty good paint and tires. They threw it in for "free". We closed on the property today, so now I have a big brother for my G. I hope all the Cases don't mind. Bill

Nice. I've wanted a series IV D17, but never could find a decent one. A very nice 175 diesel came available nearby a few years back, so I bought it. But I wish it was a gas. That would have been the final application of the venerable 226 engine.

"Final" in more ways than one. They revved the 226 up to 1800 rated RPMs from 1650 and increased the compression ratio from 7.25:1 on the D17 to 8.00:1 on the 170 and ended up getting about 2 or 3 more HP. Some of those engines gave up the ghost at that point and the 226 was discontinued.
