To replace the driver’s side motor mount on my 2013 Silverado 2 WD do I have to remove the exhaust manifold?5.4 engine.last motor mount I replaced was on an 80 something 454 and that was easy, which seems to be against the modern vehicle engineers religion for anything to be easy anymore!

Compact and light weight seems to be the game today. Other option: design engineer's ex-wife was sleeping with a mechanic, so the design engineeer wants to get even with all mechanics.

On my 2011 the shop owner (high school classmate) told me three hours. When I picked it up he said they were able to do some shortcuts and it was 1.5 labor. Not sure what they did. You Tube is your friend.

Latest one I have done a 2007 the manifold did not have to come off... I took the inner fender out it may not have to come off but its no problem to take it off.. The rest is doable from under the truck. The top bolts mount to engine would be a pain if you are not tooled up well...

The engine has be to lifted quite a bit take care not to damage the oil pan : (... I get 3 hrs...

The 2wd trucks are the easy ones, but the LH mount is the tough side. Hand tools is doable but having air tools, impact swivel sockets and long extensions will make it easier. On the gassers I've never removed the inner fender or anything else. As much as you're tempted to toss that heat shield, its pretty important so the new mount doesn't get cooked by the exhaust.
