Have a 1997 NH turbo with 192 engine. Engine pulls great under load but seems a little slow on uptake when given full throttle?

Air cleaner or turbo going bad.

If it is new to you it might be just fine. Turbo lag is a real thing. It just takes time to get on boost. If it was different, and is now getting worse, There may be issues as mentioned. Putting a boost gauge on it might answer questions. Jim

If this is a issue that has progressed over time the turbo needs looked at.
If this is a recent purchase the 192 turbo doesn't have the low end response the the older 201 non turbo engines had, got get the rpm's up to built boost, down low there's not much boost
