Age of tractor tires ?

Are the manufacturing dates of rear tractor tires on the tires? - like on automotive tires?

Yes, they are, but every manufacturer has their own code and location where they put the code. I was tire, wheel, and rim Buyer for 3 years at the IHC FARMALL plant and I never had the need or time to learn the different codes or locations. My job depended more on IF you had them or when you were getting them. NOBODY ever asked how old they were.

My tractor only had 214 hrs on it and the orginal tires so the date code on the tires here me date the tractor.

Should be,look for a 4 digit number near the bead.

First 2 are the week, second 2 are the year.

Look up your brand to be sure and see the example.

I wish i could decipher the number on my 14.9 x38's i took the number to the Red Power show when i went to De Moines Iowa, and when i went on to the Firestone Tire Plant Tour, i showed it too the tour guide, he couldn't figure it out either, LOL, But all i know there still good, and will last another 10 years easy !

Maybe in the 1970's they were all over the place but not now. Most if not all tire manufacturers use the standard DOT date code system because they already have to do it for all their on-road tires, and it does not make sense to come up with something completely different for off-road tires.

Since 2000 the code is 4-digits WWYY, week-week, year-year. 1120 would be the 11th week of 2020.

Tractor tire age is not as important as on-road tires. With a tractor you run them till they're bald or the sidewalls split open.
