AW-7 international Harvester

I have an AW-7 international Harvester tractor that needs a new seat spring. I can get one made to suit. When I purchased the tractor it didnt come with the seat spring, does anyone know the specs for this spring.
Its a tapered compression spring.

Your tractor model does not exist but tapered springs were used on many I-H models and are still available
Steiners for one has them

As MJ says they are Australian built tractors. There are quite a number of different "A" tractors including Super AMD 6. When I have travelled in Australia and Europe it seems like IH made a tractor model for every day of the week.

The last picture is an AWD7

Hi Majorman, an AWD7 got imported into the UK about 10 years ago and it is now in a friend of mines collection near Doncaster. MJ.

These ones are in the Woods Museum in Rupanyup owned by my friend Michael Woods, there are also a number in the Waracknabeal Wheatlands Museum. I have never seen so many tractors and implements of various types in three huge sheds, tractors were so close together you had to climb from one to another and no chance to get picture. My cousin had a couple of items in there, a cross motor Case and a tumbril from his farm in Beaula.

Here is another one from a collection we visited in South Australia. This man had dozens of tractors in an old railway shed at a disused station. The floor was rotten and they were dropping through it in places.

There is also a picture of the spring.

One thing about the tapered springs is the spring constant or load capacity. Originally you could order the springs in three different weight capacities depending on the operators weight. The last brand new spring I ordered was only available in one capacity, heavy. I put it in a C I was restoring and it the seat would not hardly settle at all and I weight like 195lbs. I went back to the old spring. You could heat some of the coils and get the spring to settle a little if it is a problem.
