Kubota Recovery Tank

I need to add some anti-freeze to my B2620. The radiator is full, the recovery tank almost empty, and I need to put in some pure antifreeze to bump down the freeze point. But I don't see how to get the lid off the tank. It appears that it should just lift off, but it won't budget. And I don't want to force it and break it - probably $50 to replace it. Does anyone know for sure if it just pries off?

Thanks,
Tim

It is normal for a recovery tank to be nearly empty when the engine is cold. You should drain some off from the bottom of the radiator then add an equal amount back to top of the radiator.

I would be interested in knowing what it was or is testing. The selling dealer should have made certain it was good for your weather. As the other poster says either stick a siphon in the top or drain the radiator down , but I would double check you checker.

Its testing at -15F, and I try to get all my engines at least to -25. It does get that cold here occasionally.

I just flushed the radiator and refilled it 50/50 - am surprised it tests -15. I thought adding a half quart to the recovery tank would do it. I did think about siphoning some off the top, or draining a bit.
