Trying to figure what to do with brothers spray rig, I find an oil can. I cleaned it off. It's a international Harvester Co. pump can. Did these cans come with IH equipment, or were they sold separately? Stan

how old is it? i bought one in the 1970's from the dealer. but before that lots of things had to be oiled regularly. even the old stationary engines you had to oil the rockers.. and horse mowers you had oil cups on them. the old tractor had to oil the rockers too. always needed an oil can close by. can u post a picture?

You may want to set it aside and preserve it. Check out international Harvester oil cans on eBay, some of them are pretty pricey!

Oh not sure, but i think IHC contracted with a Co. to make a oil can and put their Logo on it and promoted it in the accessory isle. The old binders did have a oil can holder, maybe that was standard equipment, but we always used a squeze bottle in there!

I have an old horse drawn JD mower with a space for an oil can. I think it's still there. Stan
