can anyone help with removing the steering cylinder of a ford 5610?
the hydraulic lines are easy but the cylinder is part of the steering ball joints that are threaded. not sure if you take the ball joints off or unscrew the cylinder

I replaced the cylinder on my 5610 this past June. Blew the shaft seal and was cheaper and quicker to get a new cylinder than rebuild the old one. I replaced ball joints also.

I removed the ball joints at each end while still on the cylinder. Left side popped loose real easy, right side took some "persuasion". When I got it out I found a lot of paint in the tapered joint.

Once you get it out the ball joints will screw off.

I replaced power steering filter and cylinder hoses also. Once back together turning back and forth bled the air out of the new cylinder. Messy job but not difficult

Where are you buying a steering cylinder that cost less than $105, that's what a seal kit cost.
Took me about an hour to reseal the cylinder after getting it off the tractor. but that was my first time tearing one apart so I took my time.
