Cleaning windshield

What is the best way to keep a tractor windshield clean what do y’all use I have heard that rain x put on the glass and the dust just blows away. Thanks

I've had good luck with a product called Invisible Glass, and I use rain X on all my street rods and love it!

I dont know about cleaning but if you wipe them off at at night before the dew hits a dry rag works. If you wait until more it takes alot more work.

Pa used to drag a chain from the steering axle of the combine. He claimed it kept the dust off the windows. I don't know.

(quoted from post at 21:06:58 11/03/20) I put Rain X on a truck windshield years ago, never make that mistake again. It just made a mess.

Never heard that type of complaint.
What sort of mess was it?

007, yers ago I used RainX for awhile. It made the rain just shoot right off, but it left kind of a haze when wet that interfered slightly with vision. Nothing that I would call a mess by any means but I finally quit using it because of that haze.

I agree. I use rainX washer fluid. Used to use the original. It work great while it's raining. The water beads and runs up while you're driving. Park it after the
rain and it dries leaving spots of dust behind. But it really make it easy to scrape of ice or frost.

(quoted from post at 06:29:17 11/04/20) good brand of old school hard shell carnauba wax will outlast rainx.

Fred, I decided to apply some thirty year old (old school right?) carnauba wax to a truck 15 years ago and I had to rub it for hours to bring the shine up. NO THANKS!

I have the problem of keeping the inside of my p.up windshield clean. Just so damn hard to get the old body to conform to the positions I have to be in. What have others used and done??

News paper to clean them just wipe it off and go. A dry rag works pretty good in the late afternoon before it gets dark to clean them up some.

Trucks, tractors, house windows, mirrors etc.

I take a rag and wet it down with washer fluid or glass cleaner, whatever is handy then sprinkle the rag with Bar Keepers friend.

Give the window a good wipe with it then follow with a quick wipe with a dry rag, perfection is not the goal at this step.

Repeat on all windows inside and out.

By the time you have done the last window the first ones will have finished drying and will have a slight white haze left on them.

Take a dry paper towel, cotton rag or newspaper and give them a final once over, the haze comes off super easy and you will have a window so clean you will need to touch it to see if it still there.

If you have a badly pitted windshield do not use this method as it will leave residue in the pits that will really show up when driving into the sun.

The chain stops the buildup of static electricity by grounding the machine. It does make a difference.

I use AQUAPEL Windshield/Glass Water Repellant, works great... It will do just one treatment on a auto windshield you need to have your ducks in a row when you apply it, it does not go far and dry's fast.

Unlike rainx when you run your wipers it wipes clean with no film left behind.
