Going rate for shelling corn in your neighborhood

I have my F2 gleaner out and cut some wheat this summer. Then I found a corn head for it and have been shelling some 200 bushel corn. Just wonder if anyone knows what custom guys are charging

They are around $25-30/acre here plus trucking. Prices really haven't changed much as I used to get $22/acre 25 years ago.

Many state agricultural extension websites publish the going rate or range of rates for various types of custom work.

I was told $35/acre for a Deere S690 with 12-row chopping corn head.

If the trucks can keep up that machine can cover a lot of acres. They blew through my little 11 acre field in about 2 hours including waiting for trucks.

I've not seen anything local under $45 and a lot at 50-55. Not many operators, lots of ground to cover.

Last job I shelled I charged 12 cents a bushel.

It is interesting how terminology has changed and is different in so many parts of the country. I grew up with combining corn, picking and shelling corn.
