This is an early 1970's John deere 820 tractor.
I am trying to find the upper steering shaft seal.
OEM seal type is a flat lip seal approx,1/4 inch wide located in the upper steering shaft support housing --- inside the housing right above the steering shaft bushing.
John deere parts dept here in Chambersburg Pa shows no such seal.
The only seal they can provide is what I would call a dust seal located outside the support housing right below the steering wheel.
Does anyone know where I can obtain the OEM oil seal for this OLD tractor ?
The seal I need is shown in the photo as the black ring right below the spanner wrench offset.

Take the remains of the old seal, or carefully measure (calipers) the shaft, housing bore, and width to a bearing supply.

Chances are they can find one that will work. A double lip seal has the advantage of excluding contaminates from the back side of the seal.

T22260 is still a good number with Deere. The problem is that replacing that seal is not going to fix the leak. I would suggest
you also replace the 6 o-rings down in the column as well. Not a fun job but there are worse things. As a hint I leave the column
in place, remove the steering shaft/valve assemblies and work on the o rings while sitting on the seat. You will need o ring
picks that are about 10 inches long
