Picked up this steer today. I would guess him to be about 700 pounds.

He's not going to be real big when finished, maybe 1000 pounds or a little more. Any idea what breed he might be? His owner had no idea, at least not that he would say anyway. I don't know either. He has curly hair so I'm thinking part Hereford maybe.

My herfords would get curley in winter then shed out nice for summer, heres a pic i had of 2 of the 4 Herefords i had, could be herford mixed in your steer, hes got his winter coat on!

My guess is crossbred Hereford and milking shorthorn too.

I would go so far as to say that is all Ayrshire, but he needs to be wormed. Hooks to pins, strength thru the loin and chine, good feet and legs it screams dairy breeding all the way. A full feed Ayrshire is hard to be for taste and they cover better than the Holsteins do. Pretty sure we have a dozen or more Ayrshires on feed right now.
