tire ballast transfer pump

here is the pump i use to fill tires with calcium chloride liquid ballast . not sure if it would work with alcohol based antifreeze. i put a couple tablespoons of oil in the pump, fill the hose with water, then stick the hose in the chloride tank. use a fill adapter on the tire valve. harbor freight has some cheaper versions of this pump too. rinse it good with fresh water when done.
poke here

I use a simple and cheap drill pump. But if you are using CACL I learned to tape the trigger and plug and unplug it so your likely to find it can be shocking due to the fact CACL and water mix conducts electricity very well and it is next to impossible not to get some on the drill motor

I might put a vegetable oil in the pump, But oil in permanent contact with rubber is risky (opinion). Jim

I've done the drill pump and it's terrible slow. Here is how I do it. A basic utility pump short hose and the adapters.

You guys are making me feel real cheap now. We just set a half barrel on the fender and pour the liquid in and let it drain in the tire with the same deal as shown. We took the air bleeder out and used a piece of shift lever air line from a truck for the vent. Will fill a tire to at least 3 inches above the rim if you want to. We have had that happen a couple of times only was an inch so left it in on the loader.

I put the cal. c. back in a 12.4 by 36 tire using an old windshield washer pump. I had to stop and burp the tire a few times. The pump only lasted for one tire.

I borrowed the local tire shops pump one time, its one of those air powered diaphragm pumps, had a 4 way valve on it so you could burp the tire without any mess. Pretty slick setup.

I used water one time have to drain it and its really hard to get it all out but it adds a lot of weight
