Hip update

Monday will be 3 weeks since my left hip replacement and I'm feeling pretty darned good. I have no pain except when I sleep on the left side too long then I get a little stiff and some slight discomfort. I am now walking without the aid of a cane and pain pills, the physical therapy folks say I'm doing good. I just had to get into the Kubota and see if I could push on the clutch and that was no problem either. I'm taking some walks and have no numbness but most of all, there hasn't been any pain in my right hip since they operated so I just might not have to have it done for awhile yet. Overall I'm very pleased with everything except wearing these darned compression hose which I can get rid of Monday. Thanks folks for all the well wishes. Keith

Just don't cross the center with your left leg yet. They told dad he was not to get his knee past the center point of his body when he first came home and some other exercises to do. He was doing fine like that but would not behave. Caused him a lot of grief too. follow the doc for a month or two at least.

We all hope our bodies will hold out and not need surgery intervention. Good to hear your doing well as it gives us courage in facing what may be an eventuality for some of us.

Good for you!!! Just keep up the theropy!!
I rode a stationary bike daily to get the flex back in my knee.
Walking stairs is good, too.
When I saw the Doc after a couple months, he was impressed with
how much motion I had. He asked what all I was doing.
I told him working on my "pretend farm",walking, getting
on and off tractors, in and out of trucks, just doing
daily duties. He said, just be careful, but keep up
the good work.

Keep on doing it. It just gets better. The left hip I got in May is doing very well. Amazing how many spare parts us old guys can get.
