Don't think I have ever seen grass grow like it has this year late.Pasture is heavy where the cows are now and will have more good pasture to turn them in on around the 1st of Dec..Shouldn't have to feed any hay until Jan.unless we get some deep snow in Dec.

mine is burnt up. Had the best grass until the rain stopped in august. I move the cows home and feeding hay already but had a bumper crop of hay so I will be fine. The goats seem to be enjoying the falling leaves so ill them out on pasture till it get below freezing.

Mine was good until we went 3 weeks without rain. Never recovered after we started getting rains. I've been feeding hay for about 3 weeks now. Hopefully have some rye grass that will get a little growth on it before it gets cold and they can graze that some. Southern middle Tennessee.

There is no mountain pasture left here. It has been all eaten up snce early august,or even earlier).Been way too dry,no rain.Hay is at a premium, hard to find There will be some fall cornstalk and other stuff later, but nothing out there now.

Growing season is coming to an end here on the north side of Lake Ontario. Days have been cool with plenty of rain, so there is still some grass growing, but growth has slowed. I will have to bring cattle off pasture by November. Things just get chewed up and muddy

Has not rained here(SETX) in more than 1 1/2 months. Been feeding hay for awhile now. Rained when I put in the ryegrass. It came up, cows ate it and now no sign of it. Good news is I have a years worth of hay.

My cows are scrapping and clawing for every bit of grass they can find. Put some hay out a little over a week ago, but they're still just picking at it a little each day, so there's still a little grass left. B y by next week I suspect it'll be all but gone.

Doing the same thing here in Fbg., no rain, high temps and high winds have dried these hills something horrible!

Just turned my cows out on new pasture they haven't been on all year (was brush mowed once) not much there, grass hasn't grown well around here this year

They do indeed look in good shape the calves also,, I have a lot of native grass in those pastures that only gets 6-10" tall that has a lot of feed value,, I was also feeding left over hay barley bales that the voles had chewed the strings in to on for over a month, they ate is like it was cake, the calves are weaned off now so there is less head to compete with,,

Mine is under 4 inches of snow and still building.

Due to less cattle and an endless rainfall this year again the pasture was actuslly in pretty good shape, some good grass left. But growing is done now, so they will polish it down in the next few weeks, if the snow melts down some.

Started haying about 2 weeks ago. Pasture is slowing down with cool nights and it looks like they're getting ahead of it. I'll probably move them in soon and give pastures a break, have to preg check anyway so they'll be in.

Most of my area has been in a drought since mid June...There is no pasture and everyone is feeding hay..Some are even baling corn stalks...

My Dad bought the feeder part new in 1973 or 74 it has another section that can be put on top as it was when we fed all loose hay then to the cows he had then,, its on my uncles JD 953 wagon gear I think thats the # anyway
