Tips and tricks to sharpen the blades on this mower? Fixin' to mount it on the purple cub. Sharpen top of blade? Bottom? Both?

If you will finish mow only, and hit few "objects" I would sharpen the top of blade only. If the underside is radically worn to the extent that it would take grinding for 1/4 of the top to get the bottom flat, I would consider new blades. Balance should be very close, 3 or 4 grams or less. If in tougher mowing, top only but leaving or making a 1mm, or shy 1/16 flat on the front edge, to toughen it against nasty nicks. Jim

Grind the top only at 45 deg. Measure the blade width at the bottom surface and keep them equal for balance. Don't need knife-sharp edges. I tried the flat edge as suggested and didn't notice much difference.
