I don't know if i should admit this or not, but i help a neighbor with tillage, The STX275, got a Cummins 505 Cubic engine it, was heating So the boss called out his independent mechanic, he rode with me,that day it run 183* he said ,it must of been the thermostat,ok On the 275 series the big hood comes forward and and up, the the radiator was clean,so he was satisfied, so he went back to town! The owner also has a 325 STX also,he run's, that blew a sterring hose,i suggested he call the dealer this timme, so he did, when he was out i told the Mech about my tractor heating, first thing he said, did you blew out i said yes it's clean, so he walks over pulls the hood, unknown to me he pulls the side doors forward, wow, problem found,[all full of fuzz from cattail's]it's got equal to 3 ,full size radiator,1 is the AC evaporator, and 1/2 size oil cooler i don't think the owner even knew about that side door, anyway a cheap fix!

But, i never read the book, never seen the book, and thats my story and i am sticking to it! That's the boss's job!

My Ford had a side panel that came off and you twisted a retainer and the condenser would slide out.

It was not in any book,,, just had a new 1070 start heating after a week running a Hesston loaf maker/stacker,, went up to the ans place and started to pull the side panels and he said I already checked to radiator its clean,, I continued removing the last of three bolts to pull the panel, and pointed to the area between the ac and trans coolers, it was Packed with hay chaff like you describe, a few min of blowing and she was right back to work,, that and a 1270 we sold new to them are still doing the same jobs today, he told me years later he blows them out every two to three days just to make sure they are always clean,, funny how things like your post brings those memories back, I never forgot it though

That was a Great addition as long as you did not have a loader on them put over 5K on a new 7700 with fwa that unit made me have a whole new appreciation for the Ford line,, I own a 7600 but have it on loan to a good friend for I guess 10 years now as I have no use for it
