451 7' sickle bar mower

Any opinions on what one of these might bring. Prices seem to be all over the place on the interweb
Id say fair condition bars are sharp and box of new knives in E central MO

I sold one a few years back for I think $350 and I'm here at the Lake of the Ozarks in MO.

If not worn out, a very good mower. If it has major wear, parts are available through New Holland or Joe's Machinery, Willow Street, PA. Get a manual! Get a Joe's Machinery parts catalog. Parts listings and diagrams can also be found online. If you're hooking it up to a tractor where the three point hitch has narrower dimensions between the upper lift arms (like a Kubota or some compact tractors), you may need an adaptor piece for the top link fitting next to the tractor. The manual will give some idea about that - I built my own when I was using a neighbor's Kubota with some flat iron and bolts. I've used a 7' and a 9' for several years. You can cover a bit more ground with the 9', but that's one heavy bar to lift up and down! With my chronological advancement, I almost wish I had a 7' bar now! I've found setting it on a pallet with the cutting bar down and resting on blocks of wood makes it easier to attach/detach from my 3930 Ford tractor. It's much more stable that way than with the bar up in the air! That also allows for greasing most all the fittings even with it off the tractor.

Condition is everything,hacked up ones sell pretty cheap,original condition ones that have been kept nice will go for $1500 sometimes.

I sold one that I had rebuilt a few years ago for $750 and it sold very quickly.

I've seen them advertised for $1,200 - $1,500.

Around here in Ky they sell for $1000 all day long. I have had one for years had a mf44 before that. Very good mower only complaint is it runs too smooth wont vibrate the grass.

I sold mine about a year ago. 7ft. knives were well worn. Always kept inside. looked very nice. I asked $1450 for it. The guy walked up to it and said I'll take it.
