Can someone tell me what Industrial engine this is? It is in a LeRoi air compressor . Also what tractor it might have been in. TIA

My GUESS would be a C-153.

Take a look at the side of the block just ahead of the coil and below the cylinder head and see what (if anything) is stamped there.

544 used the 200 cid 4 cyl, 2/3rds of the 301 used in 806 gas. No sleeves, had to bore out and use O/S pistons.

Yup C153. There is a flat at the top of the block just about half way along the block. You will find the engine serial number and a C153 stamped there.

Should add that even though a C-135 or C153 has the same engine family with others the same size there is at least 4 different blocks. Some blocks have a notch cut out for a forward mounting starter. Ones like in a combine or swather have cut out on right side. T-5 crawler has cut out on left side viewed standing at rear looking forward. Another one fits the 330 and 340 type tractors and another fits the A through 404 tractors. Most if not all notched blocks not drilled for a pilot bearing. Also I think at a serial break some internals of blocks are different. ID tag not stamped very plain but best I can tell it looks intended to say UC-135 B engine model. U was used to indicate a power unit.
