OT: red oaks dropping twigs

Last few weeks the red oaks on my place have been dropping twigs with clusters of green leaves. They look like they were cut at an angle and cut in last year's growth, not the reddish twig
from this year. Cut most of the way through with some peeled bark below the cut. Squirrels?? I have lots of fox and blacks, a few reds. The leaves have barely started to turn.

Yep, squirrels.I have the same thing with my pin oaks. And what must be millions of acorns half eaten on the drive.

Both Porcupines (Where they roam) and squirrels are guilty of "trimming trees". Beavers do it the hard way. Jim

That tree in front of my garage has been there for years and I can't remember this ever happening before. I need to take it down anyway, I'm sick of the mess and the sticky spots on the cars.

If you can find a twig right after it falls
you will most likely find acorn on it
there not stupid them little grays
