I had mentioned I was looking into a HEAT HOUSER / WIND BRAK.
I had a Dr's appointment this morning...when I arrived home my NAIGHBOUR had donated a TARP
Was not required...I did thank "HER"
Also noticed TWO used Power Steering Cylinders left by 830..

They really aren't that complicated. They're just a simple frame designed to keep the canvas from falling off. Just be aware that on your 3020 and 4020 the brake pedals extend almost beyond the platform. If you need to hit the brakes the canvas gets caught up. An angled iron mounted to the step keeps the canvas pulled away from the pedals. I've never been around Case tractors so I don't know if they are the same.

Pa built the heat housers for our 1520 and our 4600 Ford. The 4600 had a loader. They were a small tube frame w/ 20ga tin on the fire wall that carried a plexiglass windshield with the canvas cowl. The doors were small tube frame covered w/ 1/4” Masonite board.

In you cold you will need very good batteries, cables, and a tank heater to heat the engine to get that running in the below zero temps. But looks like you have it about ready.

That's too bad that you can't head south this fall, I hope things are straightened out before next year. We are planning on going south about Nov. 15th, as soon as our venison is frozen, I'm being optimistic! We just bought a place last spring, we probably wouldn't go if we were still renting. They say the warmer weather and being outdoors is healthier, we hope.

Comfort covers for H's & M's that had the same problem with brake pedals used a 3/8" or 1/2" curved rods bolted to the frame to stretch the canvas out out of the way. Might be able to use the same idea.

Nice work. I'd get a blade to put on the loader for snow. Can only push snow so far with a bucket. Just my two cents.

I've heard the 830s were never as good starting as the 730. The electric intake manifold heater works great on my 730 on cool fall days but if I was going to run it in winter I'd install a coolant heater. 1500 watts will warm that engine up like summer time in short order.
Years ago I made a "heat houser" out of big panels of cardboard for the Cockshutt 40. It helped quite a bit. Nowadays I just dress up warmer against the cold or else wait for a warmer day to clear the driveway.

looks good. i see your sitting right up there just like the 706/806 tractors, no wind protection, so need a bit of protection. i notice your yellow jacket pipes for the shed. oil patch is siezed up now!

Good morning rustred........:)

Our youngest Grandson (I married a widow with five grand children) was able to score me some 6" heavy wall pipe....:)as well as some canvas for his favorite Grandfather........:)
I should add,I'm financing his collage fees as I type...Heavy Duty mobile equipment Technion / Mechanic.

I found a place called "The Warming Store.com" (no spaces) about 4-5 years ago, they actually cater to year-round motorcycle riders, but they sell electrically heated gloves, socks, vests, even coveralls, their clothes are also used by snowmobilers, and guys on old farm tractors digging out two feet of snow from the driveway. I have 12V socks and glove liners. Everything I touch on my FARMALL SUPER H or M is solid cast iron and freezes my hand in 5-10 minutes when it's really cold. And my feet get cold in about 15 minutes. I sit on top of a 1000 CCA 12V battery on either tractor, I have a switched power cord that reaches from the battery right up to my temperature control. The time I used the gloves I had them on heat setting #2 of 5, I've heard #5 causes burns. I haven't used the socks yet, I'm afraid my feet will sweat. Normally takes me half hour to clean everything pretty well. I 'll wait till the warmer part of the day, and hope for a warmer day. All our vehicles are AWD now.
The idea of making a heat-houser from cardboard sounds good. I keep the grill on the SH completely covered, the tractor runs at operating temp, with a little help I could get all that warm air back around me!

When I was a kid my dad actually had a real "heat houser" brand for the Cockshutt 50. Although it was originaly intended to fit a 30 but Dad sewed on some canvas extensions from an old binder canvas so it covered both sides of the motor. The plastic windshield would give good protection but the visibility was so poor through it that he usually left it off. The heat coming off the old Buda 273 gas engine was pretty good.
