I don't like the looks of any truck lowered to scrub the road. Trucks should set high and proud, rather than crouching in a cowardly manor.---------------------Loren

Loren, I was just thinking the opposite, lowered so an old man can get in. This one might be a little low but not by much. I don't think that it will be hauling fire wood through the woods much in the future.
Nice truck! joe

It probably has a modern engine in it along with an automatic transmission and air conditioning. Not likely the original blue flame inline six.

I understand the dislike for lowered trucks, but this one looked pretty good. I'm sure it doesn't get out in a field very often.

Probably on an S10 or similar chassis. I like original better but it's not my truck.

Yes the body does look nice. I would prefer seeing it on a 3/4 ton 4x4 chassis, and loose those sissy sports car wheels , and give it some more truck appropriate wheels and tires.
There are many models of truck from 1950 through 1962 that I would love to have , particularly if the bodies were put onto late model chassis’s. Hard to beat stopping, steering and reliability

I agree with that, and I don't care for those wheels either.

The truck body looks very nice, but I have to agree with the others.. lowered is just not my thing at all, and not a fan of the "sporty" wheels either.

If I wanted a car, I would buy a car.

This is what a truck should look like.. nice stance, "truck" type wheels.. ready to go to [b:93570cc243]work[/b:93570cc243].

1967 F-250, 352 v8, 2bbl carb, oil bath aircleaner, 4 spd New Process trans, Heavy duty rear springs.. first year for that body style, last year for the 352 in a truck, oh, and pretty much all original - including the paint - aside from the wheels & mirrors. have hauled a few good sized loads in that truck.

(quoted from post at 07:03:11 10/07/20) Maybe I'll understand the need to be a grumpy old man about everything, some day.

People can't just appreciate that other people appreciate something, and leave it at that.

Agreed.

I much more prefer the lowered all around look vs the 4x4's that are lifted in the front, lowered in the rear.

The look makes me think of a scolded dog with tail tucked as it runs off to hide.

(quoted from post at 06:54:06 10/07/20) here is my old Ford.

I agree 100%

But I suppose when you walk around with your shorts hanging half way down to your knees there's just no way to get into a regular height truck without dropping your skateboard.

Sure do like the looks of your beauty Heartless........:)

My late Grandparents had the same vehicle in different paint........blue in colour.:)

Bob..

Thanks, but sadly, I no longer own it. I did, however, sell it to someone that would love it as much as I did.. I miss that old truck! She did some serious work for me and looked good doing it.

Love seeing the pics of the other old Fords! some great trucks for sure.

To my mind, when you lower a truck, you lose the capabilities of that truck. Trucks are for working. If you want the ride and height of a car, then buy a car!
Modern trucks also make me scratch my head, too.. I don't need room for multiple passengers to ride in car comfort.. I want a truck to WORK - towing, hauling stuff in the bed, etc. That old '67, I could load full size, 4x8 sheets of plywood, drywall, etc, flat on the floor of the bed, close the tailgate & never worry about it sliding out - can't do that with a modern truck, the bed is too small.

When we built our garage (30x36, 3 car, plus w/overhangs) we purchased an entire pallet of shingles, plus a few bundles for the roof.. that old truck hauled them home with no problems (including the 2 rolls of ice/water dam material & several rolls of hd felt paper in that trip). Yes, she squatted a little, but it was probably the best ride I ever got out of the old girl. lol (we had all of the lumber & trusses delivered by the lumber yard all in one trip to save time)
The lumber yard just slid the entire pallet into the back of the truck, and pushed it forward enough that it balanced out.
Try doing that with a modern truck - or a lowered old truck... not gonna happen.

A few weeks ago I picked up a couple 7 ft. posts at Fleet Farm. The guy who loaded then for me made a similar comment about how nice it was to see a pickup with a full size bed that could actually haul something!
Mine does have an extended cab, which I could also do without, as it makes the truck plenty long and hard to maneuver sometimes. But I wouldn't trade the 8 ft. bed for anything!

Regarding the original pickup which started this thread--It's his truck to do whatever he wants with. It might not be what I would have done, but it's not mine. There is still some very fine workmanship there, and the person who built it did an incredible job. For us to come here and rip on it is in poor taste.
