1935 ford car/truck question

Not asking about Ford tractors today but rather a question related to a 1935 Ford sedan.

Working on the sedan and need to know if wheels from a 1935 pickup will fit on the 1935 car?? Need some and this man who lives far from here has some but we do not know if they will fit.

thank you in advance for you advice and assistance.

I may be wrong. I looked up a 35 ford wheel. It showed the smaller bolt pattern. Some early ford cars did have a large bolt pattern. Maybe it was a different model. Stan

1935 Ford car and pick up from the factory had 16 inch wire wheels with bolt pattern smaller then most 36-39 Ford cars/pickups.

Have him make a cardboard tracing of the bolt pattern and center hole and send it to you. Then you can compare it to your wheels/hubs and see for sure if it will fit.

Except for 1936-39, all American Ford cars and light pickups use the same bolt pattern from 1928 to 1948. And afterwards, the half-ton pickups continued for many years later. Ford wheels use straight spokes. Most others use bent spokes. If you use wire spoked wheels on later model hubs, you will need a small spacer ring to keep the wire spoked wheels from cracking with use.

36-39 wheel bolt pattern is 10-1/4" for cars and trucks including 3/4 ton.
The other ford pattern of prewar to 1948 were 5-1/2" bolt circle .

So if you can't put your thumb and pinky on one bolt hole and the third bolt hole at the same time, they are not the 36-39 rims.

35 car and 35 pickup share the same chassis. The wheels are the same and easily interchange. The last year of the wire wires. 36 - 39 is a disc type wheel with a quite large bolt pattern and very large opening. Like an ol air cooled VW wheel. They will not interchange. 40 is back to a more traditional bolt pattern. I have many flatmotor Phords on the farm and have worked with those since the 60s. Larry
