Looking for any information on this machine using the hydra shuttle style transmission. I replaced a voltage regulator yesterday and solved my charging problem.. easy enough machine fires right up and charged good. I let run a few minutes and shut the machine off. I went to restart about 5 minutes later and the starter spins fast almost like no compression, I have not one noise when the tractor was running or when I shut it off. I removed the starter and am able to turn the flywheel over but the cooling fan is not turning?? It is fairly easy to turn with a screw driver... I find it hard since I did not hear any noise that there was some type of internal failure.. but I am at a loss.. I am not sure with the hydra style transmission if something might be wrong there?? Thanks ahead to anyone who can shed light on this machine.

I am thinking engine fan, next to the radiator, when you say cooling fan. If you can easily turn the flywheel, like no compression, and the fan doesn't turn (assuming the belt is in place and snug around the fan and crankshaft dampener pulleys); my first thought is that it broke the crankshaft. Other less likely thoughts are ring gear is slipping on the flywheel (which you should be able to see when you are turning it at the flywheel) or the flywheel bolts/dowels sheared at the crank mounting. The engine should still turn as normal and likely even start/run, if the issue was in the shuttle. just my thoughts.

I had the same thoughts about the crankshaft... I was hoping there would be something else since I heard no noise at all on shutdown. As soon as I was able to turn the flywheel without the fan turning I figured I had a problem. I was just taking a shot with the hydra shuttle since I dont know much about it..Thanks for the Help...
