Purolator filter for JD A 38

Wondering if anyone has cleaned a brass oil filter for a JD A. I have been cleaning it in a parts washer, blowing with air, and when I fill up with parts cleaner it just comes out on the upper inch of the filter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try a overnight soak in full strength Purple Power then rinse it out in hot water.

Thank you I'll try that. Been running it in a ultrasonic cleaner used to clean brass bullet casings.

Just wash it in a bit of fuel oil or gas. Then let dry. That is what we always did with the old Cat oil and fuel filters. They are both brass screen filters.

There are parts available to replace that brass filter so you can use a more modern paper filter.
