Have three diesel antique diesel tractors. What are most recommend products besides stable to prevent alage in tractor tanks?

I think it has something to do with either storage conditions or dirt in the tank previous to receiving the fuel or in the farm tank. I don't remember having a problem with it and a couple of the tanks ar either old fuel oil tanks or we have used them for 60-75 years with no issues.
SO we have never used any. The answers will be interesting and the results. If you kill it what then just keep changing filters real often or dump the tank after treatment?

First off its not algae.
We just call it algae because of the way it looks.
It is actually a living microscopic bug and its residue.
So to kill it you need a pesticide.
The bottle must say Biocide for it to work on diesel algae.
The bug lives in the water in your fuel.
This is why it is essential you keep diesel fuel and any containers very clean.
I use and recommend Biobor JF as a preventative since I live in a very humid area where condensation is likely.
For a small tractor tank where we are talking 10 or 15 gallons of fuel I recommend draining and throwing the fuel away if you find you have diesel algae. The fuel is cheaper than the filters you will go threw trying to filter out the bug once you kill them.
Start with fresh clean fuel and shock treat it with biocide to kill any bugs clinging to the tank interior.

I bought some biocide specifically for that from L&M a few years ago, not sure if I needed it, but I didn't want any problems. Before that I had stored 5 gallons over winter in a can and when I tried to pour it into the tractor it plugged my fine screen funnel. No such problems since using biocide. I think it's called Bio-Kleen by Power Service.
