got a look at the old casting that gave way on the steering. from the looks of it id say metal fatigue. looks like part of it was cracked for some time before she finally let go. i wonder if the was a problem with them as the replacemt part took a while to locate. heres pics

yup, front casting. good thing he was brush hogging and not running down the road! that would have been a white knuckle ride!

Hi, I would put a 1370 case front end under a 4020 with a loader, they fit perfectly no holes to drill, put the spindles wheels and all, you wont break that! But you got to find one first i understand that!

Dairy farmer in this valley has a 4320 with a loader on it and a 1370 axle under it. Says he's not had a bit of trouble with the case axle. RB

I put a 4240 front end under a 3020. It needed an adapter kit that I got from Rock Valley tractor parts in Iowa. I put new pins and bushings in the pivot areas when I installed it. It really made a nice solid outfit for doing loader work, and the Deere axle looks very good under there.
