MF 30 backhoe

I’m trying to get a MF 30 backhoe running that has need inside for last 6 years. Starter was toast so I relplaced it and I rebuilt the carb. It will start when I jump the starter with screwdriver but stops when I stop jumping starter. I jumped starter As the electrical system needs to be redone. I just want to get it out of the shed so I have more room to work on it. What should I check next.

Just run you a hot wire from the battery to the coil and crank the thing drive it out then go to work on the wiring.
 
As JM says run a wire from the non ground side of the battery to the ignition side of the coil and spin it over. But remember the only way you have to shut it dow again is to pull that wire off the battery
 
Pull the carb drain plug and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas that will fill a pint jar in less then 3 minutes and yes catch the gas to look for water/dirt etc.
 
Im not getting gas flow thru the carb I guess. I cleaned it up and same problem. Am I missing something in regards to getting the carb flowing good again? I have good flow coming into the carb. Do I need a new carb?
