I predict some cheep tractors

There is a collector auction of over 60 tractors plus much more stuff at Brooks mm Sat. 26. When that amount is sold at one time in my opinion they
will run out of buyers and there will be some dirt cheep sales. There must be a better way to sell large collections.

Considering a quarter of them are Farmall Hs, yeah there will probably be some cheap tractors. Nothing stands out to me as unique or unusual from the list so it’s just a clearing of an estate. Needs to be done somehow.

Hey, that's my neck of the woods! Unfortunately, I don't see anything there that I can't live without.

Grandpa Love might be interested in a couple of things though; a Ford 901 SOS and an 8N with single row corn picker.

Have never cared much for how McMullen does their online site. Very difficult to navigate.

For anyone that may be interested: http://www.mcmullensales.com/auctions/?p=31171

I think you're right, gonna be lots of low bids. Plus, with so few auctions this year, I think it's going to be even more crowded than normal!

Prices are declining but are a long ways away from being dirt cheap. IH H's and M's if in running condition bring over 750 dollars around here. Compare that to the 1970's when very nice H's and M's seldom went above 500 dollars. Now the "high end" stuff like JD 630 are off of their highs from 20 years ago and are trending down. A running 630 was usually 4,000-4,500 dollars back then but today that same money will buy you a fairly recent redone 630 that will have a three point hitch and maybe fenders. Good but not redone 630 including WFE as well as fenders and 3 pt for the same money. Loose but not running in the 2,000 dollar range.

My experience this year has been the complete opposite. Things are selling HIGH because everyone's having online auctions and it's so easy to bid.

Yeah, online participation has buoyed older tractors from going dirt cheap plus as you say provided a rebound for other pieces of equipment. A recent area auction for
1960's-1970's JD equipment showed prices to be very healthy for less than prime machinery such as a JD 44 manure spreader for 1,100 dollars. Substantially better than
average condition but quite a ways from being ready to take to the JD expo hooked behind some restored tractor.

I see one error. There is a WD9 listed as 1956. That has to be a Super or the wrong date as the last year of WD9 was 1952.

Here in western Ohio, I don't think you can pick up an H or M that runs for less than $1200.
We've been watching the prices for several years because we buy each of the boys a Farmall when they turn 12.

Scott- Brooks,Mn is about 20 miles south of Thief River Falls on Hwy 59. In northwestern Minnesota, up in my neck of the woods. In fact I knew the person that
had this collection. I plan to be there. Tom in Mn.

Prices have been up and down at auctions
here in Southern Illinois, I picked up an
8N a few weeks ago for $300 at a
consignment sale two weeks later at the
same auction house consignment sale one
went for $950 in worse condition

H and M's are in the 250-300 range here at auction no use for them here anymore and no one wants them just had a collection sell a few weeks ago all IH's he had some nice units about 25 tractors only one that brought above scrap was a 1206 he had put over 12K in it brought almost 8K , I have turned down letter Series Ih's I was offered to have if I picked them up I passed on that went to the iron yard

Sounds like I need to bring a load of good IH letter series back here as good ones will bring above 1,000 dollars each here. It is surprising here given that those tractors have no more use here than where you are. Still I hate to see any good tractor go for scrap regardless of color.

Hi , from this side of the pond we have seen prices rising in the last 6
months or so. Good original genuine gourde tractors are probably 20-
25% up on pre-virus prices. A couple of examples; early 135s up to
around £10,000, Ford 5610 2wd Super Qs up to around £13,000 and
normally plus 20% sales tax. Even 35s are fetching up to £6000 .

You sure need to come to Tennessee , H or M running on decent rubber will not bring ove $500. Just too many and no buyers. Saw a M with power steering and decent tires sell Saturday $545.00 and they had to beg to get that. WD 45 AC running good. $ 400.00

Ron, probably to most people, as big a deal as it is for the Farmall guys to not note the difference between a Super and its predecessor, It is not a noteworthy difference.

If that 44 spreader was a three beater and in good condition I would have bought it. I have one and it is getting tired but still does a great job. Tom

If I had the money I would have bought it as there was one on this farm back during the late 1960's. This one as was the one we had was a large drum single beater. The one at the auction needed a new floor as I recall.

Was to an auction Saturday. 27 tractors assorted brands. Prices were reasonable, but didn't think they were "giving" anything away. The same for the last couple I've been to.

Tom, if you think that it is worth the freight to get a 44 to MD or WI I will keep an eye open for you should one come up again. Another JD auction just wrapped up out by Buffalo, NY. Items of note include what I thought was a 444 plow and 50 mower. Better than average 14T baler. Maybe I should arrange to talk to you via phone at some point.

Sometime when fall work is done we do need to talk. A few things are happening here that will allow me to travel and play a little more with the collection. I need to go back to MD this fall for some stuff and the wife wants to visit family. Tom
