O T Flex seal

I've used the spray stuff with mixed results. Depends on what you're trying to do with it.

I used some in a spray can a few years ago to seal where an upper metal wall sits on a metal roof. It lasted a couple weeks and cracked worse than the flashing caulk I was using. Moreover the flashing caulk won't bond to the flex seal so I created a big problem by using it.

Flex Seal makes a variety of different products, not just one. All serve different purposes, some work better than others for their intended purposes. In my experience, their tape and caulking work very well. The liquid is silicone, seems many people use it for applications not well suited for silicone.

Not sure why anyone cares what sort of house the commercial guy bought.

and your point is what? he made millions selling a product? Cudos to him I say,, I use several of his products and worked fine for me

He's done well on a hit and miss product... My son had a leak a 4" sewer pipe from the top floor the cable guy drilled a hole in it. My son runs off to Lowes and buys all sorts of Flex seal for a fix. I just happen to stop by they had the sheet rock torn out I ran back to the shop got a tap and 1/4" brass plug and fixed it...

His next leak was from the up stairs HVAC unit the first thing that came out his mouth was Flex seal...

That guy had done a good job of putting his product in folks head I wish I was that good...

Used it where the fireplace chase comes through the roof to stop a persistent leak. Its been a year now and still no leak. No complaints from me.

1. it won't seal an air cleaner cup. The oil goes right through it.

2. I used some 'knockoff' version of flex seal on my fiberglass skylights in my shop when they got porous. Its kept the water out and kept me from having to change them out for the rest of the winter. (No light through them, but no water either.) (They had been there since 1987).
