Massey 44 Special standard

where u getting your info? what is a lot? they only made the special for three years and it shows 8000 tractors row crop high crop and standard. i want to know how many diesels in the standard model. i am sure it is not a lot.
 
A lot more gasses than diesels....and a lot more diesels than LPG models...There was an extensive article in the MHF Legacy magazine about the 44 and variants, but gives no breakdown in numbers.

ok , i just saw my first 44 special diesel . i know the pump will be stuck. no resistance on clutch pedal, so that is shot. belt pulley missing. poor tires, not run in 15 years. i offered 500.00 and the girl laughed at me. i am thinking cant be more than couple thousand diesel. plus it appears the diesel has the same bore as the old 44 gas. not an increase like the 277 special gas.
 
You are right....the 277 diesel was in the 444. I think your offer is fair,injection pump parts are expensive and some are not available. You could buy a running one for a lot less than that one will cost to make it operable.
